Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia (EFNS) represents the province’s 25 licensed egg and pullet farms, who are dedicated to providing Nova Scotians with a stable supply of fresh, high quality, nutritious, locally produced eggs.

EFNS is looking for an Executive Assistant to join the team with the primary responsibility to support the General Manager and Board in administrative tasks and to ensure the office runs smoothly. Strong administrative, organizational and relationship skills are required for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager with presentations, written documentation, record keeping and calendar management
  • Provide administrative support for board meetings including preparing meeting packages, sending calendar invites, recording minutes, documenting motions and follow up actions
  • Manage, coordinate and plan special and promotional events
  • Support the execution of the marketing plan and monitor budget
  • Update website and manage social media accounts
  • Monitor media and report on the social, economic, and political trends that might affect operations or the image of the industry
  • Prepare funding proposals, applications, and final reports
  • Manage travel arrangements including scheduling flights and booking accommodations
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and coordinate office maintenance
  • Answer phone calls, respond to general email inquiries, and act as first point of contact for visitors to the office
  • Support team members with data entry and other administrative duties

Qualifications

  • Completion of post secondary education in business related field or related work experience in administration
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with event planning
  • Advanced excel
  • Social media and website management
  • Experience in Agriculture is considered an asset
  • Financial background is considered an asset

Compensation

  • 35-hour work week
  • Starting salary between $57 – 68K
