Dairy Production Technician


Position Overview
• Attend milking at a specific time in order to identify and certify the production level of each registered cow, take a sample of her milk and collect all data required for the publication of production records.
• Take an interest in customer objectives and business performance. Follow up on customer objectives and farm performance at each test. Make visits to the barn, observing the animals and their environment at each customer visit.
• Determine with producers the strengths and weaknesses of their herd and direct the producer towards the best solution to solve his problems and improve his herd’s performance.
• Take animal body condition, weights and measurements, and enter information for animal records and traceability.
• Gather various other data on the farm and transmit them to the computer system.
• Inform customers about the various services and products offered by Lactanet.
• Recommend, as needed, the services of a Dairy Production Advisor, a Validator or any other person involved, and ensure follow-up.
• Participate in customer development

Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma in agriculture (great asset)
• Practical knowledge and working experience in the dairy industry.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computers with residential high-speed Internet.
• Valid driver’s license with dependable transportation.
• Being a resident within your circuit area.
• Ability to occasionally lift to 58 lbs.
